Pushing My Limits: An Exoskeleton Walking Session with the Atalante X

It was an incredible day yesterday, Tuesday, July 1, as I had an exceptional walking session with Wandercraft’s Atalante X exoskeleton! From the moment I started, it felt truly remarkable to walk with 40% robotic assistance, which provided immediate support and made the experience incredibly fluid.

During the session, I pushed my limits and incorporated squats, even removing the trunk straps to really challenge myself. This forced me to actively engage my core muscles, which is an area I know needs significant improvement due to their current weakness. It was an invaluable opportunity to focus on strengthening them. While I know my form wasn’t perfect, it served as a powerful reminder of the critical importance of trunk stability for successful walking, and it highlighted where I need to direct more of my efforts in my rehabilitation journey.

Adding to the day’s highlights, I had the unique opportunity to switch therapists mid-session, allowing me to work with two of my absolute favorites! Their combined expertise and encouragement were truly invaluable. I’m so grateful for all their support and motivation throughout my session!
