I am posting about this event now because even though it occurred a year ago, it still feels like yesterday. This event keeps me going even when I have a hard day.
Wandercraft’s Keynote Event
I am delighted to share an impactful event that has made an everlasting impression on my life.
On Wednesday, December 13th, 2023, I had the honor of attending Wandercraft’s highly
anticipated keynote event in New York City at their new headquarters at Cure- (an ecosystem of
leading life sciences, digital health, and tech-enabled companies) in person where they unveiled
their latest innovation which is their personal exoskeleton that will allow quadriplegics,
paraplegics and others with mobility disabilities to walk, function and accomplish tasks just like
normal human beings.
It was a very special and joyful occasion for me and it infused me with
much hope. I had the privilege of meeting and collaborating with the wonderful people who
selflessly gave of their time, efforts, and talents to make my dream of 18 years come true! It was
especially impactful for me to hear the stories of the founders, Nicolas Simon and Jean Louis
Constanza who wanted to find a solution to allow their relatives to walk and partnered with
Matthieu Masselin, a brilliant, compassionate, and energetic man to help them achieve their
vision These 3 angels were instrumental in the makings of Wandercraft: the most wonderful
company ever.
I saw how they were truly passionate and committed to improving the lives of
people like me, and I'm quite a good judge of people and their character by now because I've
met and interacted with many people throughout my 18 years as a quadriplegic so I know by
now how to weed out people who are not genuine. It is due to their grit, determination, and
perseverance that I had the gift of standing and walking in their Atalante X exoskeleton during
my walking sessions that I eagerly wait for.
I was so fascinated and excited after hearing the
presentation and watching the video of the personal exoskeleton, but I was shocked to see
Kevin and Charlotte, 2 paraplegics from France actually walking around in the exoskeleton
confidently, naturally and without fear. This gave me a lot of hope that soon in the future I'll be
the one who is walking in the exoskeleton!
