Yesterday, Tuesday, August 19, I had the chance to walk in the Atalante X exoskeleton—and honestly, it was a game-changer. As someone who’s been a quadriplegic for years and gone through countless physical therapy sessions, I can say I’ve never felt as satisfied as I did after this one. By the end, I was drenched in sweat and genuinely felt like I’d put in real work—a feeling I’ve never quite gotten, even using the Ekso Bionics exoskeleton.
The Atalante X felt different from the moment I strapped in. There’s something surreal about standing up and taking steps with a machine that seems almost intuitive, responding to my faintest movements. With every step, I could feel muscles firing that had been dormant for ages. It’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it, but imagine rediscovering parts of your body you thought you’d lost touch with.
What really blew me away was how engaged I felt from the very first minute. It wasn’t just the physical intensity—though, trust me, I was working hard—but also the mental challenge of syncing up with the exoskeleton. It pushed me further than I expected, and there were moments when I caught myself smiling because, for the first time in forever, walking felt less like therapy and more like freedom.
None of this would be possible without my physical therapy team. Their dedication, patience, and encouragement mean everything to me. I’m so grateful to be part of a team that never stops believing in what’s possible. They celebrate the small victories with me and push me to dream bigger. Honestly, I think I’ve got the best team in the world.
If anyone out there is on the fence about trying advanced rehab tech, I’d say: go for it. You might just surprise yourself with what you’re capable of.
