You know those emails that just make your day? I got one of those on Friday, July 7, 2023, and I’m still excited about it! It was from Jeanne Vanmairis at Wandercraft, and it was the official announcement: Wondercraft is finally opening a dedicated Walking Center where I could walk with the Atalante X exoskeleton. I literally did a little happy dance when I read it.
I’ve been waiting for this news for what feels like forever—officially, it’s been about three months. My anticipation started way back when I first walked in the Atalante X exoskeleton. There was something special and magical about the feeling that I experienced along with the joyous atmosphere there that made me think, “A walking center would be perfect!, I hope that they make one soon. Maybe it was the feeling or the people, but I’ve been hoping ever since that Wandercraft would make it a reality.
And now, it’s happening! I’m counting down the days until my first walking session, scheduled for Wednesday, July 12. I imagine a space specifically designed for walking, with a pleasant view, or even a comfortable, climate-controlled environment for exercise. The new center at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey, has the potential to become a special place for anyone who loves to walk.
I have a strong feeling this is going to be truly special!
